Post !!!
Hello everyone.

Back playing ET for a while now and im facing this issue. Made a config, didnt change much, only tracers, fov etc., widths, heights so i could play on fullscreen, but now im facing this problem. Everytime i start et and play for atleast 2 minutes, my ventilator starts working like crazy. Checked r_ commands to see if they were making this, but nothing extraordinary there. Re-installed a couple of times, still getting this.

Has anyone else ever had this issue and what could be causing the problem?

Post both configs on pastebin.com. Is it only with the old cfg?

I only have one cfg since the reinstall, that comes with the stock name "etconfig". Changed all the settings that i needed there, and this is the one that causes trouble.

Thought you had two configs like you said in PM in-game, with the old one causing the fan to speed up whenever you exec it.

Don't know, have you tried r_primitives 2? Also, doubt this has anything to do with it, but I have r_ati_fsaa_samples 0.

yeah, i had 2 cfg's, but then i reinstalled and deleted them both. Looks like that didn't cure anything, since i put my old settings back, (the ones i remembered), and the fan is still working like im playing a game from 2017, actually its only working that hard in ET.

Yes, i've tried primitives.

No idea. Maybe it's a CPU issue with multiple cores.

Try PBPrior to set the affinity to all your cores. http://www.crossfire.nu/threads/view/id/37887

Download:

I use it myself.

I think it has something to do with CVAR's. I know i should check them one by one, but that seems impossible since the fan starts working loudly, i exit and it goes on like this for a few minutes until it realizes im out of ET, so its hard to catch whats causing it.

Maybe smth is overheating? Or Hunkmegs is too high? Eg. I have
seta com_soundMegs "48"
seta com_hunkMegs "128"
