Yeah, you guys could suggest new maps, small ones. http://www.wolffiles.de/ has them all, including test servers.

We did suggest some, doesn't look like anything going to happen. Server seems to be permanently empty lately, such a shame.

I suggest the following 3 changes after 1 year has passed with the old maplist:

1. adlernest
2. goldrush_te
3. frostbite -> Dubrovnik + scriptfix
4. braundorf_final -> braundorf_b4
5. missile_b4 -> tc_base
6. oasis sw
7. bremen_b3
8. radar
9. Special Delivery TE
10. supply

Imo dubrovnik and base are too small maps for such server.

If server has 24 slots, you have to think in category of 24 slots, not 12...

It's been a while since Hirnlos has been full... Maybe change the map if it becomes an issue with a full server, but until then a little change would be welcome after a year. And Dubrovnik isn't played on any other ETPro server, so maybe it'll bring some more players just for nostalgia reasons.

Changing maps won't help with ANYTHING.

I prefer Hirnlos over Hirntot, but it's been years since I've been there. Every time I decide to play ET (and it's rare) Hirnlos is empty.


If anyone cares enough about the server you need to organize a thing that can bring people in at the same hour. Maybe some sort of tournament, maybe regular bashes. People should know that at certain hour there are gonna be people playing on Hirnlos. I'm not dedicated enough, but I'd play from time to time for sure, I'm tired of fueldump :D

Otherwise server is gonna remain dead. You either need to fight for it by starting from the scratch and promoting it, or let it rest in pece.

This may also work since, as far as I know, many people seek for "pro" maps. NBS is non existing I think and klientpro is active only during weekends (and not that many people play there anyways).

Anyway, there was a recent topic about the evolution of Hirntot... What I'd suggest for the evolution of Hirnlos, is to XP reset every map, and limit the skills to 0 (maybe even remove the spawnkill protection script). Maybe that would draw in more of the NBS/klientpro and competitive crowd. Big changes are a no-go for Hirntot (like changing maps, limiting skills, etc.), but I don't see why a bigger change like this shouldn't be tried on Hirnlos, which is practically dead and needs something new/fresh to maybe start breathing again.

So, again, I suggest XP resetting every map (Objective instead of Campaign), limiting the skills to 0 (b_defaultskills "0 0 0 0 0 0 0", b_noskillupgrades 1) (maybe even removing the spawnkill protection script), and the following 3 map changes:

1. adlernest
2. goldrush_te
3. frostbite -> Dubrovnik + scriptfix by Harlekin (put in etmain) (pastebin version)
4. braundorf_final -> braundorf_b4
5. missile_b4 -> tc_base
6. oasis sw
7. bremen_b3
8. radar
9. Special Delivery TE
10. supply

Agree with everything c-man said, except changing Dubrovnik for Frostbite. Xp-resett after each map and removing spawn protection is worth a try.
